Enjoying Cinnamon: 10 Ways to Add More to Your Diet

Cinnamon is one of the most popular spices used in cooking and baking. It has a pleasant aroma that is comforting and soothing. Cinnamon is also known for its health benefits. Follow these tips and enjoy all that cinnamon has to offer.

1. Add to ground coffee. One teaspoon will add a nice flavor and scent your kitchen as well.
2. Sprinkle on yams or sweet potatoes. The cinnamon will bring out the natural sweetness.
3. Mix with sauerkraut. This will keep the sauerkraut from being too tart.
4. Add to pancake batter. Cinnamon pancakes are a delicous way to start any day.
5. Combine with sugar. One teaspoon of cinnamon mixed with two tablespoons of sugar can be sprinkled on toast, biscuits or english muffins.
6. Add to pudding. Cinnamon can be added to pudding mix during prepartion or ready made puddings.
7. Add to smoothies or breakfast drinks. Sprinkle cinnamon on ingredients before blending.
8. Mix cinnamon into baking mixes for a little variety. Try with muffins, cookies and cakes.
9. Add with fruit to yogurt or cottage cheese.
10. Sprinkle on oatmeal or cereal for a flavor boost.
